Rights group says army barrel bombs killed two women in North Kordofan, as a drone destroys two fuel stations in Al-Rahad

Emergency Lawyers says an army Antonov dropped explosive barrels on Um Badr, killing two women and destroying a water station, while local sources blame the RSF for a drone strike that destroyed two fuel stations in Al-Rahad. The army and its allies say they are advancing towards Al-Nahud.

The Sudanese rights group Emergency Lawyers says a Sudanese army Antonov aircraft dropped three explosive barrels on the Um Badr area of Sodari locality, North Kordofan, on Wednesday 4 November. The group says the strike set fire to homes in the Dar Bahr neighbourhood, killed two women and wounded 10 other people, according to The Sudan Times and the Arabic editions of Sudan Tribune and Medameek.

Emergency Lawyers says the bombing also destroyed the Al-Kabjark water station at Khor Dardaq, including its storage tanks, pumps and solar panels. The station is one of two main sources of drinking water for the surrounding communities. The group says there were no military installations or armed personnel at the sites. The army has not commented, and the account has not been independently verified.

Also on Wednesday, a drone fired four missiles at the Al-Mithaq and Nawafil fuel stations in central Al-Rahad Abu Dakna, North Kordofan, at about 2am, destroying both. No one was hurt, local sources told Darfur24. The sources believed the drone belonged to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which has not commented.

Competing claims on the front line

Military sources quoted by The Sudan Times said forces aligned with Port Sudan, including the Joint Force and Special Action Forces, were advancing towards Al-Khuwei and Al-Nahud in West Kordofan. The same sources said they had taken Um Marahik and dozens of nearby villages on Wednesday. On 3 November, army special operations spokesman Mohammed Didan told Sudan Now that an operation north of Ayal Bakhit had killed dozens of RSF fighters, including two officers. None of these claims has been independently verified. Egypt's Youm7, citing Sudan Tribune, reported that the RSF had sent reinforcements from Darfur to the North and West Kordofan fronts.

Civilian toll elsewhere

In West Kordofan, residents told Radio Dabanga that a drone strike killed eight people and wounded three in Um Dibo, El Sunut locality, on Monday evening. They did not say who carried it out. Reported tolls for Tuesday's drone strike on a fuel station in El Abbasiya Tagali, South Kordofan, still differ: Radio Dabanga says four people were killed, Darfur24 ten and Sudan Now at least 16.

In South Kordofan, the International Organization for Migration's Displacement Tracking Matrix recorded about 345 people fleeing four villages in Hebeila locality on 3 and 4 November, Darfur24 reported. The displacement followed clashes on 30 October between the army and the alliance of the RSF and the SPLM-N.
